Mind, Body, Health, and Wellness Workshop: This workshop is designed to help you find solace in preparation for the winter months. You will be guided through a Hatha Yoga class led by Nicole Dieso that incorporates poses and breath work for better sleep, digestion and positive thinking. Kristin Boudreau, Doctor of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, will teach a class on acupressure and homeopathic remedies for stress-reduction and immune system strengthening. The workshop will conclude with a guided Yoga Nidra meditation for stillness of the heart and mind. There will be a Q&A session as well as a take away handout of the yoga sequence and acupressure techniques to practice at home. Kristin Boudreau - Kristin is the owner of The Healing Point in Middletown, Rhode Island. She is certified as a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine by the NCCAOM, a Doctor of Acupuncture in Rhode Island, and a Licensed Acupuncturist in Massachusetts and California. Kristin graduated with a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in San Diego. Following PCOM, Ms. Boudreau studied at Chengdu University Hospital, one of China's largest teaching hospitals located in the Sichuan Province of China. She is presently earning her Doctorate in Oriental Medicine specializing in Mental Health, Geriatrics, Orthopedics, Neurology, Women's Health, Preventative Medicine, and Pediatrics. After suffering from chronic Lyme Disease for over 10 years during her childhood and early adulthood, Kristin has personally witnessed the difficulties of chronic illness and the healing effects of Oriental Medicine. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge with her patients to empower them in achieving their own ideal state of health. Nicole Dieso - Nicole was inspired to teach yoga after practicing at an ashram in India in 2008. She received her 200 hour instructor certification in Hatha Yoga in Feb 2009 and David Swenson’s 40 hour Ashtanga Teacher Training (Primary Series) in Feb 2010. Nicole has a military background; she graduated from West Point and served as an officer in the US Army. After completing her 5 year commitment to the Army, she lived and worked as a civilian in Qatar and Kuwait. Nicole decided to change the course of her career path and returned to the United States to focus on teaching yoga and expanding her international life-coach practice. Nicole has experience in teaching yoga to discipline-challenged teenagers, Yoga & Meditation to Soldiers with PTSD, Prenatal Yoga, Heated Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga, Gentle Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga.
